Enlighten
Action for Epilepsy was established in 2002 and remains the sole, fulltime epilepsy focused, epilepsy specific, bilingual, independent, nonmedical, non government, registered charitable organisation that provides complimentary combined services to all those affected directly or indirectly by epilepsy in all sectors of the Hong Kong community. Mrs Anson Chan is our Honorary Patron and Miss Karen Mok is our Ambassador.
Mission: To provide support and care, raise awareness and educate the community in order to remove prejudice about epilepsy to improve the Quality of Lives of those with and affected by epilepsy.
Vision: Enlighten – Action for Epilepsy, share the Vision of The International Bureau for Epilepsy of “a world where ignorance and fear about epilepsy are replaced by understanding and care”.
Our key combined services are provided to all sectors of the Hong Kong community and they are, but not limited to:
- Bilingual Epilepsy Support & Community Welfare Programmes
- Bilingual Community Epilepsy Education and Training Programmes
- Bilingual Community Epilepsy Awareness Programmes
Epilepsy education, training, awareness and support services allow all members of our community to be respected as individuals, as opposed to being discriminated against because they have epilepsy.
