Hong Kong Cancer Fund

The Cancer Fund is Hong Kong's leading cancer support organisation, providing free professional guidance and support to anyone living with or affected by cancer.

Over the years we have received tremendous support from Savills Professions Sevens, who have helped secure the funding for our nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) recovery packs; packs that we distribute to patients to help relieve their discomfort and improve their quality of life during and after treatment.

This year, we developed a brand new recovery pack, containing self-help items and a recovery guidebook designed to improve the physical and emotional well-being patients'. Each year, we distribute more than 1,100 of these packs throughout Hong Kong's major public and private hospitals.

This is just one of many initiatives and free services that Cancer Fund provides in helping to make life better for people touched by cancer thanks to public generosity and support.

We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who supports the Savills Professions Sevens, helping us fulfill our mission to ensure no one faces cancer alone.

About Nasopharyngeal Cancer

Nasopharyngeal Cancer (NPC) is the 7th most common cancer diagnosed in Hong Kong, especially among males, affecting areas in the back of the nose and towards the base of the skull. Radiotherapy is the main form of treatment, and in some instances, chemotherapy is applied. Both the cancer and the treatment may affect the ears, eyes and teeth. Mouth and throat become sore, mouth ulcers form and swallowing becomes very difficult. In helping to relieve such discomforts and maintain oral hygiene for a more speedy recovery, Cancer Fund introduced an NPC Recovery Pack in 2003. Each NPC Recovery Pack contains essential oral items, practical information about this form of cancer and comforting advice, including details of our available support groups and free cancer support services.
