Riding for the Disabled
Riding for the Disabled Association Ltd.(RDA) in Hong Kong is charitable organization offering free therapeutic riding to disabled children and adults in Hong Kong.
RDA has operated in Hong Kong for over 30 years offering an average of 8,000 free rides to disable people per year. RDA conducts lessons from three different centers around Hong Kong, these are in Pokfulam, Tuen Mun public Riding schools and Lo Wu Saddle Club.
To enable RDA to run it's very special programme it needs very special horses, who are quiet and steady with good paces. To find these special equines takes a lot of searching and cost. Last year RDA purchased with the help of corporate sponsors three new ponies from the UK and Europe. This year RDA has also had to buy three more new ponies but is looking for an interested company to help sponsor the purchase. Any company who sponsors the purchase is given naming rights to the horse and we will use the company name on our website and other promotional material, the company may also use the pony to promote it's involvement in supporting a charitable organization in Hong Kong. Stable visits are also arranged and photo sessions. Should you or your company be interested in this venture please contact the address listed below for more details.
Riding for the disabled can also help riders progress from therapeutic riding to competition riding and the Para Olympics being highest point.
